Property Management
Property management services are a very important part of your Costa Rican real estate experience if you are a retiree who spends the winter or an investor who only spends a few weeks. For anyone who is not a full time Costa Rica resident, their services will be needed. The first thing you need to look after is to see that your property taxes get paid on time. For home owners, if you do not pay your annual and municipal property taxes, the government can take your home. For condo owners, if maintenance fees are not paid, the administrator can file to have your property frozen by the government so that it cannot be sold until you pay the debt in full.
Property management services are very common in Costa Rica because of all of the temporary residents. Some companies will even manage renovations and construction projects emphasizing quality control and cost effective decisions.
